Literally human body can go days without food and water but it cannot go for few minutes without oxygen.
Our tissues need a 100% percent of the oxygen that it can carry in all the body every minute just to perform daily normal functions and tasks. This means that there is almost no excess oxygen for body tissues to perform other tasks such as healing form a wound, injuries.

Hemoglobin examiner shows 96%, 93% 89% or 99% for a healthy person normally leaving no more rooms to adding excess oxygen less than 4%. Therefore, there is no way to increase oxygen percentage beyond that unless we increase pressure above 1 atm.
For that HOBT treatment is used to dissolve oxygen molecules in the body tissue and the plasma of the blood by pressurized oxygen.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which the patient can breathe 100% pressurized oxygen in a hyperbaric chamber. Breathing 100% oxygen under pressure dissolves more oxygen in blood vessels which is then delivered to those areas that are having trouble healing due to the lack of oxygen in the surrounding tissues. Additionally, by forcing more oxygen into the tissue, HBOT stimulates the formation of new blood vessels and creates the optimal environment for the body’s natural healing process to repair damaged tissue.
Normally the body intakes bound oxygen by breathing then combines it with hemoglobin existed in blood causing oxygen molecule size larger than the capillaries in which oxygen will not spread easily throughout the body.
